I was watching MECUM a few days ago and one of the hosts commented that the car on the block had the heaviest wheels of any production car. I don't remember what it was, but I wonder if it were true. To eliminate the obvious answers, no trucks or SUVs.

AMG wheels are pretty heavy. Not sure on the heaviest of all time

My guess would be 50's Buick steel wires. I just pulled an aftermarket set off my pickup that are steel and my guess would be 30+ lbs.

Those wheels make my lower back hurt.
Although a Bugatti is a little rich for MECUM's blood.

That sounds familiar. I'm sure it was some old American car.

I assumed those cars were just made entirely from pig iron and collapsed star cores.

Yeah, a chunky 5-spoke AMG wheel showed up when I searched "heaviest production car wheels."

Well, it was actually one of many wheels.
I couldn't get a definitive answer and I kept getting redirected to "heaviest Hotwheels cars."
